Renaming of Roselea Estate Lake

24 July 2020

Public feedback is being sought about the name of the lake within the Roselea Estate in Stirling.

I am pleased to see community consultation and the hard work of the Roselea Residents Association to get to this point.

I have been working with the Roselea Residents Association and local residents around the lake on a variety of issues since people began moving in, first as a local councillor and now as the local Member.

Most people wouldn’t know that the actual name of the lake is the Roselea Boulevard Compensating Basin.

I secured agreement from the Water Corporation for a change to the name in November of 2018 and the City of Stirling has since been working through the required processes.

The community has always called it the Roselea Lake, now it is time for us to see it on a map.

This builds on my work as part of the McGowan Government to improve the amenity and water quality in the lake with planning progressing on the Albert Street Branch Drain project.

For more information on the name change and to have your say please visit www.stirling.wa.gov.au/renamings.

Community engagement closes on Sunday, 2 August.
