The McGowan Government is delivering on a key election commitment to expand Osborne Park Hospital. Contractors have been invited to submit an expression of interest to tender for the proposed works, which include: a new level 2A neonatal nursery; fit-for-purpose maternity assessment unit, and; 16-bed rehabilitation unit.

The enhanced obstetric services will enable local mothers with low to moderate risk pregnancies to give
birth closer to where they live. The new 16-bed rehabilitation unit will comprise of six existing stroke beds,
as well as 10 additional new beds, and will specialise in caring for patients aged over 65 years.

More than 1,450 babies are born at Osborne Park Hospital every year and more than 1,500 patients receive
rehabilitation treatment at the current gym. These upgrades will mean a higher level of care is available to
patients, closer to their homes.

We are also delivering $2.96 million for maintenance and improvements at Osborne Park Hospital as part
of our job-creating state-wide Major Maintenance Blitz.
